As the calendar turns to fall, we bring back our popular Afternoon Tea offering. We hope you can join us to enjoy tea time! We will be offering an afternoon filled with tea, sweets and house-made treats on a bountiful buffet table. The buffet will be $35.00 for adults and free for children 12 and under, and will include tea service and non-alcoholic beverages. Lamster, architecture critic for The Dallas Morning News, will be joined in conversation by Ray Washburne, Dallas business leader, and Managing Partner of Highland Park Village for a discussion exploring how urban planning, architecture, and commerce have shaped Dallas into the city it is today, and how these same factors are at the center of urgent questions about the city’s future. For our October book selection, we will be reading “The Correspondent” by Virginia Evans. Her bestselling debut novel, told entirely through letters and emails. It follows Sybil Van Antwerp, a witty, 73-year-old retired lawyer in Maryland, as she writes candidly to family, friends, and authors over a ten-year span. An unexpected letter from her past forces her to confront old grief and find forgiveness.
